Wintrust’s current CEO and one of the company’s founders, Ed Wehmer, set up shop in a northern Chicago suburb with a simple goal: to provide an alternative to the big banks. Now, more than twenty-five years and 175 locations later, they've stayed true to that original mission.

Wintrust’s Construction, Engineering, & Architecture (CE&A) Group is dedicated to the construction industry. Since its inception in 2014, the Group has grown its portfolio to include over 300 contractors, engineering, and architecture firms with approximately $1 billion dollars in total commitments to those clients.
