"Construction Working Minds" Mental Health Train the Trainer Program

"Construction Working Minds" Mental Health Train the Trainer Program

Wednesday, October 6, 2021 (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Safety leaders are invited to participate in a professional training to help address suicide prevention in construction.  The industry experiences the second highest rate of suicide in the U.S.; we are all invested in the mental health and wellbeing of our workforce and want to be a part of the solution in furthering workers’ welfare efforts in the industry.

This Train the Trainer session, organized by Lendlease Foundation and its partners, is aimed at building capacity within the construction trades for team leaders who can serve as advocates and trainers to successfully deliver a 60-minute suicide prevention training to their team members.

This free training is for CAGC members only; register today as space is limited!

Facilitator:  Sally Spencer-Thomas is a clinical psychologist, inspirational international speaker and an impact entrepreneur.  Dr. Spencer-Thomas was moved to work in suicide prevention after her younger brother, a Denver entrepreneur, died of suicide after a difficult battle with bipolar condition. Known nationally and internationally as an innovator in social change, Spencer-Thomas has helped start up multiple large-scale, gap filling efforts in mental health including the award-winning campaign Man Therapy and the nation’s first initiative for suicide prevention in the construction, Construction Working Minds.
